I’m an expert at taking in material and standards that need to be communicated and using my creative magic to make lessons more engaging for all, while sticking to the needs that need to be met.

In my years teaching persuasive writing, I noticed that students often came up with basic evidence and reasoning to support their opinion theses.
I created a lesson that allowed them to work backwards - they had a completed essay, an empty graphic organizer, and had to figure out how the author had structured their writing and reasoning. They could then apply this critical thinking to their own work!
Studying lines and shapes without getting to play with lines and shapes is criminal in my book!
To wrap up this 4th grade math unit, I created an art activity that had students thoughtfully design and create their own creature made up of different quadrilateral shapes and line expectations.
Children have a wealth of creativity and need moments to explore, play, and practice.
My recent teaching experience in Athens, Greece was no different.
80 fourth graders from all over the world were eager at the chance to have a graphic design club, and I was ready to lead.
Our club met once a week and created vision boards, thank you cards, school flyers and posters, re-designed book covers, contributed to the yearbook design, and, for a final, surprise end-of-year gift, designed their name for a club t-shirt.
